About the photographer
I am so glad you have landed on my page! My name is Jessica, but most call me Jess. I have enjoyed photographing people since I was young. My passion for photography started with my uncle buying my very first camera. I started taking pictures of everything from that point on. I took photography class in high school and learned how to develop black and white film. After high school I went to photography school learning how to use a medium format film & digital camera to hone in on my skills and understanding of light.
I am an on location photographer that embraces the natural and ambient light of our surroundings. I love the authenticity of natural light.
I have 2 kiddos and a sweet 5 year old dog that loves to be by my side. My kids have endured me taking their pictures at all milestones, and they have been *mostly* great about it. I also have a passion for running and horseback riding.
I treat my sessions like a chat with friends. We will talk about your life, things you love, anything that will make you smile. Your portraits should show you and your personality and that is what I will strive for during our session. While I love capturing humans, I also love including your pets in sessions. Our pets are part of our families and I love showing that connection.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand that it is sometimes scary to reach out to a photographer, and can be more challenging to connect with someone from outside of the community. I appreciate you for who you are, and I hope you can feel confident that I will show your authentic self in your portraits. I strive to connect with all of my clients, and hope to make you feel comfortable in our session.
